d2 charger question

the 1 thing i dislike about travelling w/my d2 is the charger. it is so last century big. is there anything out there that anybody uses that is less big and clunky?

There are any number of them available on eBay. I bought one for less than $20 including shipping and it's not only much smaller than the OEM charger, but it came with a 12V adapter so I can also charge batteries in the car.

No problems so far with mine and I use it for both my LC1 and L1, at home and while traveling. Frankly, even if it doesn't last forever, so long as it doesn't short internally and start a fire, my expectations are fairly low given what I paid for it...

Search for "DMW-BL14 charger" and (at least here in the US) several should turn up. Although I didn't see the exact version that I have, it appears prices have dropped as there are several available for around $10, including shipping...

The D1/LC5 charger is a smaller "plug-into-the-camera charger" which also works on a D2. Charges the battery whilst the batterry is still in the camera.

But whilst travelling I still prefer the external charger, so that I can have at least one battery charging whilst I am away from my hotels/apartments.

On my last family holiday, I was shocked to find that we still had to bring 11x chargers, even after trying to share chargers for common devices.

I have always carried a light-weight power board for multiple chargers, and this gets plugged into the international converter.
