Hiding the red dot on the silver camera

I know that it sounds like sacrilege but there are times when I feel that it is wise/appropriate to hide the red dot and have a much more anonymous looking camera. ...

Does anybody have any suggestions on how conceal the red dot when I want to be even more anonymous?

Why bother. No one seems to notice its anything special anyway. In the time I've had it only one person mentioned it - a geeky guy who likes and notices cameras.

If people are interested in Leica cameras (out of admiration, contempt or trying to steal one), they will recognize a Leica no matter what. You can hide the logo, use a black logo (which is just slightly less noticeable) or put tape on it; doesn't really matter.

 

If you are among Leica folks, the black dot will make you stand out of the crowd - I suspect, this is what a lot of people are really after.

 

 

Besides, the average thieve will go for something that's easy to sell. That would be your low to medium range Canon, Nikon, Sony.
