Advertisement Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hi Trivette, Take a look here Hiding the red dot on the silver camera. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bencoyote Posted February 10, 2015 Author Share #22 Posted February 10, 2015 I like the red dot but sometimes I like the stealth look too. I've added a button to my XV which gives it a nice simple look. Yeah! That is kind of the look I was aspiring to when I started this thread. Nice job. vikasmg Posted February 12, 2015 Share #23 Posted February 12, 2015 I know that it sounds like sacrilege but there are times when I feel that it is wise/appropriate to hide the red dot and have a much more anonymous looking camera. ...Does anybody have any suggestions on how conceal the red dot when I want to be even more anonymous? ... Why bother. No one seems to notice its anything special anyway. In the time I've had it only one person mentioned it - a geeky guy who likes and notices cameras. - Vikas
LexS Posted April 18, 2015 Share #24 Posted April 18, 2015 The red Leica dot in your head is much larger than the one on the camera, you have to mask that one first imho.
bernie.lcf Posted April 20, 2015 Share #25 Posted April 20, 2015 If people are interested in Leica cameras (out of admiration, contempt or trying to steal one), they will recognize a Leica no matter what. You can hide the logo, use a black logo (which is just slightly less noticeable) or put tape on it; doesn't really matter. If you are among Leica folks, the black dot will make you stand out of the crowd - I suspect, this is what a lot of people are really after. Besides, the average thieve will go for something that's easy to sell. That would be your low to medium range Canon, Nikon, Sony.
