Brian Walton Posted February 2, 2015 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I love my digilux 3. Has anybody combined an Olympus Zuiko EC-20 2x Teleconverter with the standard 14-50 Leica lens? Feedback would be great as I'm reluctant to invest in the teleconverter without some research. Thanks B
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Hi Brian Walton, Take a look here Digilux 3 with 14-50 lens and teleconverter. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stewart g Posted February 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted February 4, 2015 This question I can't quite answer, though I suspect you'd get an answer over in DPR's Oly dslr forum, as the Digilux 3 was a brief but full fledged member of that clan. There are several members who own the Panasonic L-1, which is nearly identical as you may know. One of those L-1 users surely has the 2x TC. I too love my Digilux 3. I have to force myself to use other more modern cameras.. I do think it has a reputation as an illegitimate step-child, on more than one forum. Your post is the only recent one I've seen about it on any forum. I'm using the PL 14-150 on mine. And lately I've been sticking an old Olympus B-300 TC on the front (plus 72- 55 filter ring adapter, adds1.7x). Good results, just a little vignetting and fringing, easy to correct. Brian Walton Posted February 5, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted February 5, 2015 Ta for your reply Stewart. The reality for me is that 7.5 Mp is amply for me. I take time filling the frame and that is where the zoom helps. With no cropping required post production, all is fine. B

I had a Digilux 3 and 14-50 and used both the 1.4 and 2.0 Teleconverter on it and was quite pleased with the results. The only thing I did not like was the increase in length and weight of the camera/lens combo when using it. Other than that, if you need the reach, go for it.
