Jeffry Abt Posted January 20, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted January 20, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) If one puts a 24mm f/1.4 ASPH Summilux-M on a M(type 240) what frame lines show up in the view finder? What do y'all think of using the lens without a viewfinder in the hot shoe?
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi Jeffry Abt, Take a look here 24mm f/1.4 ASPH Summilux-M & Frame lines.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted January 20, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted January 20, 2015 Have neither but it should be the 35mm framelines.
gpwhite Posted January 21, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted January 21, 2015 I use both of my 24mm lenses without a WA viewfinder, and I find the flow of working through one, focusable eyepiece to be most preferable! Â You are going to crop off some image anyways, and you will grow accustomed to estimating what the OVF is not showing you. Unless you are doing precise architectural compositions, and then maybe a tripod and LV is best of all. Â But my real answer based on three hopeful, but unfulfilling, test shoots with the 24 SX is does it matter anyway? The outer 10% or so of the image from the 24 SX seemed useless to my taste... if you shoot too tight without a WA viewfinder, will it matter to your composition? I also suspect that focusing for f/1.4 and then moving your eye to frame as a final step will play havoc with your actual focus point.
