I like to write short stories that go with some of my portraits. I shared this already on the SL forum so some of you may have already seen it. Apologies if you have. The blog post is here:

Greg the first picture ist outstanding - love the composing and the light !

The first is splendid !!!

Would not there be the first on, we would say about the second one: Wow, what a good portrait.

Thank you all for the kind words, they genuinely mean a lot to me; I love the first one also from a pure photographic perspective, but the personal engagement in the first one is perhaps a little more compelling.

I went to the same location again this morning and bumped into Danny again. He remembered me by name which was very touching and had received the printed copies I sent him and linked them very much. It's little things like that that make this venture so rewarding.

Boy on Ben Yehuda Street, TLV 2017. When I asked, if I may take a picture he said, he wouldn't take care, whatever I am going to do . . . . . It's like in Vienna the say: "Nicht mal ignorieren" ("Don't even ignore it")

I used to teach writing in a university and I sometimes asked my students to do this - tell a story visually and then do the words. It's easy now everyone has iphones and similar bits of kit with them all the time. What was interesting is that they broke into two groups - about 50% absolutely loved it and about 50% felt like I was torturing them!

I use it almost like a diary/critical reflection piece. It's about remembering what I learned from the encounter but it's also about exploring an interest in creative writing.
