Jonathan Cooke Posted January 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good morning This is my first post, though have been following post's on and off for some time and been a Leica user for about fifteen years. I purchased a pre owned X2 just over a month ago, it is excellent and I should have got one when first introduced, everything about it suites me down to the ground. Could I ask do any of you use an Auto lens cap with the X2 and if so any problems. Best wishes to all
Advertisement Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Hi Jonathan Cooke, Take a look here new X2 owner. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ropo54 Posted January 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2015 Yes, I use one. It serves the purpose, but, it is not the sturdiest item. I'd think the tube extender with a filter is better protection, but it certain makes the camera a bit bulkier. Yes, I'd get the auto lens cap. ropo54 Posted January 17, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2015 ACMAXX Lens Armor Multi Coated MRC UV Filter for Leica X2 x 2 18452 18450 Camera | eBay This may be worth looking into. This threaded filter looks like it will fit the X2. Rob
wda Posted January 17, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2015 Jonathan, welcome to the forum! I can only partly answer your question. I have one on my X1 for several years. It might be a little flimsy (where the leaves close over the lens), but for sheer convenience it is worthwhile. Just treat it with respect if ever slipped into an outside jacket pocket because other objects could damage it. But then, I never put car keys or coins in the same pocket; a tissue at most. Jonathan Cooke Posted January 17, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted January 17, 2015 Thank you for the welcome and for the replies. Will continue to explore this one P.S. I should have mentioned I also have the carry case, not the ever ready one, not sure if this might be a problem. Once again thank you to both.
