2wk Posted January 9, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been reading that some folks are using iR filters on their 240's to achieve more accurate skin tones. Does anyone use them on the XV? Is the cmos sensor in the XV similiar to the M's? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi 2wk, Take a look here IR Filter on the XV. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted January 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 10, 2015 No, it is not the same sensor. The M240 sensor is a bit oversensitive to IR, but I would be surprised if the XVario sensor were. I don't think there is much to be gained by using an IR cut filter, however, as all sensors are sensitive to IR, if only to a miniscule amount, some benefit may be seen in extreme high-IR situations like bright noon sun on the equator.
