Advertisement Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi Giacomo.B, Take a look here Filter UV with XV (New XV and X-E User). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Keith (M) Posted January 9, 2015 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2015 If I was to use such a filter on my X-Vario, it would be one of the B+W F-Pro UV Haze MRC filters originally bought for my ZM lenses. Haven't bothered so far as the hood is always on and I like to keep my feet on dry ground!
globalwander Posted January 10, 2015 Share #3 Posted January 10, 2015 Agreed, the B+W MRC filters are excellent. I also have the hood for my XV but can't use it when in conjunction with the pop up flash because the hood blocks the flash at 28mm. The filter can protect the lens effectively indoors. spylaw4 Posted January 11, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 11, 2015 Make sure that any 43mm filter you get for the XV allows the lens to freely move in & out. At 50mm (equiv) especially the lens is slightly internal so a slim-line filter e.g. the B&W one is required.

At 50mm (equiv) especially the lens is slightly internal so a slim-line filter e.g. the B&W one is required. Good point. Out of curiosity I checked and yes, the particular B+W one I mentioned is fine. With the filter in place I refitted the hood and found that at 28mm there is very slight vignetting, right in the corners. Should be easily fixable in post-processing.
