Create a Computer Star Field......

I like testing lenses to their corners looking for aberrations. Particularly coma, and Chromatic aberrations, purple fringing etc.

I want to make a starfield on my computer screen, to use as a photographic test image.

I'm thinking I need about 30% screen as one to four pixel white, disbursed through a black background. Do you think this would work to look at lens corner aberrations? I just want points of light, not a USAF test chart.

How would I do that on my PC computer in PS??

Thanks for any help you can offer.

cheers Dave S :)

Dave, I'm not quite getting what you want. Could you be more specific? Maybe you could create a little example image in Ps, blow it up 4000% with nearest neighbor, and post it.

You will not resolve a single pixel. What size pixel group would you prefer?

Here is a pattern to look at 100% (1:1 pixel).

View it in software that will give you 1:1 pixel.

We can use it as a point of departure.

Download this file.

It is a perfect black and white grid. Small to download, too.
