davidmknoble Posted November 3, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) After using this camera for several weeks, I had a few enhancements I'd like to asks for and wonder what everyone else thinks. First, it would be great to have a menu item to turn off he video button. I keep hitting it when trying to change the f/stop! This functionality is on the M, so hoping we can get it on the X. I would also love a menu item to turn off the LCD when the Visoflex is being used. I know it has an eye sensor which turns off the LCD when you look through it. I want a feature to keep it off regardless and only use the Visoflex. I think it would save battery life, giving more shots on one charge, and keep the camera more discreet in dark situations. Thoughts? David.
Advertisement Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Hi davidmknoble, Take a look here Leica X Type 113 Enhancements. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted November 3, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2014 Yes to both of your enhancements, particularly the latter - it can be done on the T, so why not on the X? There are a few others which may or may not be possible, generally involving speed, of on/off, of changeover LCD/EVF, of wake-up.
Verteidiger Posted November 3, 2014 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2014 Focus peaking. The way you can focus manually with the new X in combination with an electronic viewfinder and focus peaking might be the modern way to set focus where you want to have it more accurate than autofocus and thus replace the rangefinder. I hate having the LCD permanently on at night so have stuck a small piece of duct tape over the Visoflex sensor. Really crude, I know !

Thoughts? David. Yes, agree totally, I'd prefer to have an option to use the Visoflex only and likewise, I've hit the video button a few times accidentally. I agree, but that means that there is no picture after shooting, no controlling.... Thats what I don't want... I think I'll prefer a second battery:rolleyes:

So you wpuld have that if the LCD were off, with the external viewfinder.
