wgw242 Posted October 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, I am a first Digital(D-Lux 6) Leica owner. I shot about 150 shots last evening, and when I went to remove the SD card, I noticed that the LCD screen had a large crack in it. I did not drop it or notice any serious bumps while using it. Can anyone tell me what kind of cost and where a reputable repair service close to Venice, Florida might be. Thanks in advance for any help. dkCambridgeshire Posted October 25, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2014 Is it a brand new camera or did you buy it secondhand? If new, you might have some recourse via your Leica dealer. dunk
wgw242 Posted October 25, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted October 25, 2014 It was bought used, but was in new condition. I honestly do not know how it happened. I have owned older Leica Film cameras and finally sprung for a digital. Repair dealers seem very scarce. Thank you, Bill
dkCambridgeshire Posted October 25, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 25, 2014 Could be an expensive repair but you might consider using a good quality self adhesive screen protector and live with the problem. A Leica dealer might offer you a px deal on a new D Lux 109 ? dunk
richfx Posted October 25, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 25, 2014 I believe that the D-Lux 6 has a three year transferrable factory warranty. Have you registered it with Leica ? If so, return it to Leica for repair / service and explain what happened. If not, register it, then return it for service.
davidmknoble Posted October 27, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 27, 2014 If you are anywhere near Miami, Leica Miami is great, Josh and David could help you get it sent off for a qualified repair...
