Leica R and Bellows Question

I'm carrying all my gear on a photo trip this weekend

 

 

need some advice on using my r5 with r-bellows - i have the following lenses : 24/2.8,90,2.8,180/2.8, and the 2x teleconverter ---- any thoughts on the best way to use this rig with the bellows? am new to bellows -

 

 

-- may cut corners and use my nikon micro 60/2.8 and ringflash

The 90mm f2.8 Elmarit-R performs very well for macrophotography. The 180mm f2.8 Elmarit-R should do OK if you need a long front clearance, for instance, to photograph insects, but I do not have this lens. I would not expect the 24mm Elmarit-R to do well on bellows; I have this lens, but never mounted it on my bellows.

 

Have fun; just experiment and find out for yourself.

I've used the R bellows since about 1971, but only with the 100mm bellows-mount macro. It's a nice combination, but has been unused since I got a 60 Macro-Elmarit R and 1:1 adapter. Much more convenient.

I agree the bellows is usually best with longer FL.
