Advertisement Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hi nikonosguy, Take a look here Leica R and Bellows Question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
gvaliquette Posted October 21, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2014 The 90mm f2.8 Elmarit-R performs very well for macrophotography. The 180mm f2.8 Elmarit-R should do OK if you need a long front clearance, for instance, to photograph insects, but I do not have this lens. I would not expect the 24mm Elmarit-R to do well on bellows; I have this lens, but never mounted it on my bellows. Have fun; just experiment and find out for yourself. TomB_tx Posted October 21, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 21, 2014 I've used the R bellows since about 1971, but only with the 100mm bellows-mount macro. It's a nice combination, but has been unused since I got a 60 Macro-Elmarit R and 1:1 adapter. Much more convenient. I agree the bellows is usually best with longer FL.
