Very nice colors, Henry. What is your workflow?

Simon,as I said above, I have not touched the photo scanner output (with calibrated RGB setting) in Tiff and Jpeg to post on LUF.

All this color comes from Kodak Portra

With my M8 and M9,I have to correct but not with my M7, exposure measurement is accurate, the picture is as I see it :)

Thank you for your interest in these images and thank you for the comment

Thanks. The reason I ask is I am interested how you are doing your scanning. I use VueScan and recently have started scanning things as a RAW image, rather than using TIF and any film presets. I then use Color Perfect on the RAW file and find to get very realistic colors as well.

Simon,I suspect Vuescan degrades slightly rendering

You're not the first person I know who uses this software

What scanner do you use ? me is the Nikon scan (without Vuescan)

I have an Epson v700 and a Plustek 8200i. But now I only scan as raw I am happy with VueScan.

Simon, I had the Epson 700 that I used mainly for b&w but also color , with Epson software include with the scanner, no vuescan or silverfast

Have you tried without vuescan but with the simple Epson software

Henry,

I have an Epson scanner for medium and Large format negatives and have the Epson software, but had to get Vuescan software for my Nikon Coolscan V. I find the Vuescan more flexible and useable. It is now my exclusive software for scanning negatives.

I also used "betterscanning glass" to flatten negative and gives a better rendering to the photo. Did you ?

Paul, you are a romantic because you love the shadows :)

Yes Epson is a good scanner that is around 4 DMax

I told Simon that I added the betterscanning glass.

Look at this thread Paul :)

Yes I have purchased them for medium format. They arrived this week but haven't used them yet. Not for 35mm as I use the Plustek for that.
