Overgaard Posted May 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 7, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just saw the Rocky Balbora movie on DVD and was taken by the light and choice of lenses with DOF in the first hour of the movie. That alone make it worth seeing (besides that, a slow but nice feelgood movie) I took a few shots of the screen to show what I mean. In the "extras" on the DVD one can see a glimse of the lighting setups that made the light look like it does. I'm sure they 'graded' it as well in the computer. Welcome, dear visitor! rob_x2004 Posted May 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 7, 2007 It might have been digi remastered but I think you will find the qualitites are imparted by the way the original was shot back those days before motion picture when they used to shoot each frame with a view camera and stick all the pieces together and ... Carl Zeiss is heavy in Hollywood with an technical 'Oscar' for their lenses. And indeed; could that be the series of lenses that carl Zeiss call 'Master Primes': Welcome to Carl Zeiss Camera and Cine Lenses The ZM lenses are supposed to be the fruits of Carl Zeiss's Hollywood experience....
