VinnyTheLens Posted October 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a new Leica M-E ..I mounted a Voigtlander Nokton classic 35mm 1.4 lens. Which setting in manual lens assignment do I set it at? tThere are at least three Leica 35mm 1.4 settings in the camera. Just want to make sure I set it right. Thanks all, V
Advertisement Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Hi VinnyTheLens, Take a look here Leica M-E / Lens question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted October 10, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 10, 2014 I'd start with the setting for the non-ASPH 35/F1.4 (11870).

bocaburger Posted October 12, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 12, 2014 Don't fall into the trap of thinking that you have to use one for a 35/1.4. True it would be nice to have it labeled as such in EXIF for your records, but with wider lenses there are significant corrections applied even in raw capture. So experiment around with 35/2 and /2.8 and even some 28s. Shoot a blank white wall with 2 stops + compensation and pick whatever one gives you the amount (or lack) of corner darkening you like best. As an example when many of us had an M8 most of us coded the 15mm CV as a WATE @ 16mm. With the M9 and M240 it is much better coded as a 21/2.8 non-ASPH. I also found that my 28/1.9 CV works much better coded as a version 4 28/2.8 than as a 28 Summicron.
TomB_tx Posted October 12, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 12, 2014 I also like the Nokton Classic coded as 11870.
