philipus Posted October 5, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 5, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am just looking for clarification of a statement in the Wiki, namely that the 28mm Elmarit-M IV would be made of "Black lacquered alloy". The Tech Spec PDF linked to in the Wiki does not mention the material/colour so I am curious if the Wiki is correct. Thanks in advance Philip
Advertisement Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Hi philipus, Take a look here Wiki question: 28 Elmarit-M IV - lacquered?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted October 5, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 5, 2014 It should be 'anodised' alloy, the word 'lacquer' can take on many meanings depending on who has translated the text. Remember the confusion in 2003 when Leica announced the MP (the proper film one, not the digital contrivance) was painted in black lacquer, prompting many people to believe it was finished in a product made by bees.
