fgxd2009 Posted October 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi friends, there is something wrong with light meter of my leica m6 classic. When I wind the camera, it will turn on(without hallf-depressing the shutter.), and it did not turn off until I release the shutter or turn the speed dial to "B". The results of the metering are right, does anybody know what the problem is? thank you.

fgxd2009 Posted October 1, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted October 1, 2014 No, not a battery problem, because the battery is new.
jmr237 Posted October 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 2, 2014 That does not sound like it is behaving correctly. On my M6, the meter only turns on if 1) the shutter is cocked, and 2) the shutter button is partly depressed. The meter turns off after about 10 seconds. payasam Posted October 2, 2014 Share #5 Posted October 2, 2014 A possibility is that the switch activated by the shutter button is constantly closed -- or has something conductive between its contacts.

I asked a local repairman, he said that you need to take the M6 apart to solve this problem.

fgxd2009 Posted October 12, 2014 Author Share #9 Posted October 12, 2014 Did he give you a quote? I am thinking of taking my M6 in for repair on this issue. No, he said he never heard about this problem before. Actually I do not prefer to use the meter of M6, I always use a MINOLTA IVF light meter or just my iPhone .
