mmradman Posted September 25, 2014 Author Share #24 Â Posted September 25, 2014 Pity no test on the M or M9. Â I would hazard a guess if it works on Sony A7 it should work on M9/M240, remember it is M lenses struggling on Sony not other way round.

Well, the current version of the 15mm voigtlander actually worked great on the A7S with an adapter. Much better than on the M240 (or A7 or A7R). Almost no color cast at all in most situations, and less vignetting. One of the few situations where an M-mount lens actually performs better adapted on a camera than with native mount cameras

That is good news for M camera users - subject to some proper tests and samples being presented.

RoySmith Posted September 26, 2014 Share #28 Â Posted September 26, 2014 Do you have any links or references for that? Â BHPhotovideo has this article article which compares the 3 A7 models and shows an example of the reduced vignetting with the Voigtlander Super-Heliar 15mm f/4.5-L Aspheric lens on the A7s. If you can get by with the 12 MP the A7s appears to be better with wide and super wide angle lenses.
bocaburger Posted September 26, 2014 Share #29 Â Posted September 26, 2014 Been using the screw mount version with no issues on M9 and M240. Coded as 21/2.8 pre-ASPH I don't get any flags or objectionable color casts. Love the size of it, can always pack it even though I rarely use it. Reason I never upgraded to the M version. Hoping a lot of people drink the new koolaid so I can pick up a backup LTM for dirt cheap.

You must be very lucky when your doesn't produce the color cast whilst all others do.
bocaburger Posted September 27, 2014 Share #31 Â Posted September 27, 2014 Never said I don't get casts. Said I don't get objectionable ones. By that I mean ones that layperson viewers don't bother about. Lens testers and pixelpeepers are not my target audience . To me a slightly imperfect lens small enough to always have with me is preferable to a better-optically lens sitting home in a cupboard. Others may have opposing priorities. indergaard Posted September 27, 2014 Share #32 Â Posted September 27, 2014 Do you have any links or references for that? Â Check out Steve Huff's A7S review and Ashwin Rao's write-up of the A7S. My experience is the same as theirs. I have also successfully made many color images with the current 15mm on the A7S without noticeable colorcasts in the corners. Â The A7S is great for adapted lenses.
