Adapting the extender only. That would keep your options for the lens open. Yes I have considered all of the popular options. bocaburger Posted October 24, 2014 Share #42 Posted October 24, 2014 My experience with Canon L glass was not as positive as yours has been (likewise the viewfinders and file color quality). There are probably some apertures and distances where some L lenses will test nearly as well as R lenses but I'd rather not be either limited to those conditions or accept lower imaging quality (to say nothing of mechanical quality and handling). The only L lenses I had a really positive experience with were the 70-200/2.8-IS and 300/2.8-IS (along with matched 1.4x). I never even held a 70-180 R, and the 280/2.8 R lens I owned at a different time than the Canon. I no longer own those L lenses though. It got so I stopped wanting to carry the weight around and they just sat there. Same reason I haven't upgraded from the original 5D. Still works for the occasional times I need a zoom or macro, and I have the 400/6.8 which I can use on it. Now I can use it on the M240 and Nex6 as well, but I just don't feel the same connection with the subject matter when using an EVF. It's kind of like watching on a TV monitor. I suppose that's a perceptional issue with me which I will one day have to get over, as it looks like EVF's are the wave of the future. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Pretty much the same for me. On paper there are lots of advantages in favor of the EVF, but I haven't seen one yet that I've gotten excited about. I currently have two EVF cameras (Sony SLT-A99 and A7R) and I think EVF are still a generation or two away from getting there. I do not yet own a Leica S, but got to handle one at Imaging USA a few years ago. As soon as I put my eye to the viewfinder I was hooked.
