50 Elmar and a black dog

This is using M8 & 50 Elmar, my favorite lens for nearby animals. It focuses easily and does well with blacks. Cropped to 25% of original image area. Could not see how to upload images so this is a link to Flickr page:

Thank you Paul. I only just then met this example of the breed and was quite impressed with her disposition. She was not still for long though... I am sure you enjoy your Benny.

 

Re the sharpness, I don't know if this Forum degrades images in its presentation or not but all of the several I viewed seemed noticeably out of focus or soft whether animal or still life. My M came back with a new sensor and it was nice but noisy by comparison to have the old M8 as a backup. Scared me as much as the subjects...

Hallo to you and thanks John - Although my own dogs are Riesenschnauzers, that particular photo was of a little Scottish Terrier met in a park. Cropping to that extent eliminated clues like her very short legs. (Other extreme was the Great Dane a few slots away.) The Scottie was the blackest dog available for some testing.
