IIIa with 10,5cm Elmar

A fine finding at a junk photo store. :D Leica IIIa from 1938 and a Montain Elmar from 1933. Never had one of these in hands - a wonderful piece.

 

Both now with a technician to take out around 50 years of dust. (and sadly the top of IIIa is torn, as the front of the Elmar 5cm).

Yup... a lucky find, anyway.... :) The Alpine Elmar (a lens I like a lot for its unique shape) has a little detail that I have never seen... the small black ring (that can be unscrewed) in front of the focusing barrel seems to have a flat front surface.... usually it is tapered... is this Elmar normally coupled to the RF ?
