maxspbr Posted September 1, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) A fine finding at a junk photo store. Leica IIIa from 1938 and a Montain Elmar from 1933. Never had one of these in hands - a wonderful piece. Both now with a technician to take out around 50 years of dust. (and sadly the top of IIIa is torn, as the front of the Elmar 5cm). Advertisement Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Hi maxspbr, Take a look here IIIa with 10,5cm Elmar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted September 1, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2014 Yup... a lucky find, anyway.... The Alpine Elmar (a lens I like a lot for its unique shape) has a little detail that I have never seen... the small black ring (that can be unscrewed) in front of the focusing barrel seems to have a flat front surface.... usually it is tapered... is this Elmar normally coupled to the RF ? maxspbr Posted September 1, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted September 1, 2014 Luigi, Yes, it is coupled - it's from 1933. Very interesting this detail you pointed - looks like from factory, but who knows? I will discover when I develop the film.
