jmr237 Posted August 18, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have experience ordering Leica lenses or cameras from the website Camera Film Photo (http://www.camerafilmphoto.com)? They’re based in Hong Kong and have better prices for new Leica lenses than anything I’ve seen from the main U.S.-based merchants (e.g. B&H). For example, the chrome 35mm Summicron is $3,350 at B&H but only $2,775 from Camera Film Photo. It seems like a good deal, but maybe there’s a catch? andybarton Posted August 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2014 Are their prices too good to be true?
jmr237 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted August 18, 2014 They seem legitimate and above board; I’m just hoping to confirm this with someone who has purchased from their site. At least here in the U.S., it is unusual to find new Leica products available for anything less than the list price unless it is a store demo or return. I would not want to order from these guys only to find that Leica will not honor the warranty (or some other issue).
farnz Posted August 19, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 19, 2014 Do you need to factor in import duty or other taxes, not forgetting shipping and insurance? Pete.
