Miscalibrated aperture on R lens--easy to fix?

I bought a bargain-price Cron-R 90 but the aperture is out of alignment: it is wide open at f/2.8 and consequently doesn't really close down to f/16.

I've tried to fix the same problem on a Contax lens by messing with the levers and springs, but failed. R lenses require more disassembly to get to the aperture actuation mechanism.

Does anyone know if this is an easy fix for a professional? Thanks.

You are right. I shouldn't use this forum for questions like this. Apologies and thanks.

Alan, on the contrary, it's a perfectly reasonable question to ask - other R users may well have also encountered this problem.

I've had no direct experience of this problem, but I wouldn't have thought it was difficult to sort out; a question of re-adjustment more than anything else, assuming of course that there is no actual damage. But it's not something I would care to try myself!

Oh, not at all. Of course, to post on this forum is fine.

Although I have a handfull of R lenses I have not encountered this particular problem.

However, if I did I would ask DAG to repair it for me.

That's all. I just tried to be helpful. Oh well.

Oh no, I knew you were being helpful and not trying to censor me or something. What I meant was that I suspect most users of this forum don't fix their own lenses (or do they?).

I've taken apart and reassembled several of my FD and Contax lenses (just the mechanical parts and not the optical blocks of course), and enjoyed doing so as a way to learn about them. But Leicas are more valuable and also harder to take apart. At any rate the aperture mechanism if I remember correctly cannot be easily accessed from the rear, unlike in the case of FD and Contax.
