Luigi leather case: Broken snaps?

A snap broke on my nearly new Luigi case for my M-9. I e-mailed Luigi and he sent me several replacement snap components. After spending half an afternoon surfing to find where I could locate a tool, I gave up since the snaps are of Italian manufacture. Having half a dozen sets of snap components, I took a chance and used a vice grip to gently compress the components with increasing pressure. It worked like a charm. So if this happens to you, a note to Luigi and a set of vice grips will make all right again.

Leica, Luigi, Billingham are all products made the same way. Well engineered and with pride and tradition backing their output. Sadly can't say the same for many other products in the market.

sorry if you consider Billingham and Luigi product well "engineered" what you will see when you see some leather product from from Gucci, Vuitton , Saint laurent , Givenchy, Hermes, Prada, etc etc?

sorry but Billingham bags look horribles compared to a good leather bag and luigi details in his leather product look like done by a metallurgic worker )) compared to the detail of such brands...i m thinking about how he cut leather , finishing and dye on edges...my god i dont know where is the art :D. (and i handled both this products....even in half cases there are much much better brands....just check some post few days ago who showed luigi cases compared to another brand ....)

if you dont agree buy such product then go to a good brand shop and compare details....even if product are different there is some common details....

Yes, but you look so uncool if you have last years model it's almost as bad as having a year old Leica. I simply have to live in a darkened room until the new fashions arrive (swoons).

well its the same in camera industry....they push you to buy new model cause there is 2% better sensor or just 1 more function in camera , its how post industrial markets survives (and global economies ...)

Suddenly this thread becomes relevant with the announcement of the M240-P.

Steve

The M240-P is a beauty but somehow not as nice as the current MP IMO but that has the "drawback" of being a film camera ;)

------------------------------------------------

It's true the top designers leather articles are beautiful but personally I got hooked on Monblanc years ago and pretty much anything else looks sub par to me.

Luigi and Billingham make great products but they do lack some refinement which is precisely why a lot of people like them.

Have you ever seen a DEFY bag? Made in the US from used Military tarpaulins and trimmed in reclaimed bicycle inner tubes.

Sounds awful but in real life they're like a breath of fresh air. (If you don't mind the smell of old rubber)

The point is there are so many options today we are all spoilt for choice. I for one am glad and grateful to be living in these modern times. :)
