It is useful for more accurate focusing, e.g. on someone's eye rather then general face or nose. For larger areas, like buildings, cars, people at a distance, etc. probably better to use large focus point, as the camera is less likely to get confused. Saying that I keep all my PDAF cameras on spot focus all the time as I appreciate the precision. rgds Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
