Avatar Posted July 3, 2014 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Also got the 23mm lens, shoulder holster (super cool!) and black snap on case..Also amazing...had a choice of four colors, got black of course but will probably get another color just for fun factor. There is a bit of a learning curve with this camera of course but I am very impressed. Welcome, dear visitor! marknorton Posted July 6, 2014 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2014 Have you worked out how to remove the snap-on cover without removing the lens and one end of the carrying strap to change the battery or SD card? It's a flawed design IMHO.

theboch Posted July 8, 2014 Share #7 Posted July 8, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Doesnt look like you need to remove the strap ... - Vikas Sadly you have to remove the strap. I have the T-Snap... it is really a complete failure of design To remove the snap, you have to push it forward in the direction of the lens, which is stopped by the attached strap. I think it is ok to remove the strap only on one side of the camera... My T-snap is now sleeping in his box. I really regret purchasing it...
rob_w Posted July 8, 2014 Share #8 Posted July 8, 2014 ... I have the T-Snap... it is really a complete failure of design ... How much we raise the bar with each iteration of Leica models. Compare using the T-Snap to changing the leather covering on an M. I know which one I would rather do.

Yeah but there is a "small" but important difference: ...you do not have to remove the leather covering of a Leica M Camera to change the battery or access the film/memory card

(Mark's post suggests that you need to remove the t-snap in order to access the battery.) Thats exactly the case. You need to remove the Snap to access the battery, USB or the memory card. Which means removing the strap and the lens, in order to remove the snap... crazy...

colmac Posted July 8, 2014 Share #14 Posted July 8, 2014 Straps and cases seem to be Leica's weak points. Hopefully someone from Product Marketing will read this thread and realize how important it is to make accessories that function properly and don't fall apart before we, the customers, do. Guest Posted July 9, 2014 Share #17 Posted July 9, 2014 I cancelled my T Snap order. The need to remove the lens and strap in order to charge the battery is rather insane. I am, however, still longing for a wrist strap to replace the included neck strap. I wonder: Someone here said you need only take off one-side of the neck strap to remove the T Snap. Does that mean it might not be necessary to do with a wrist strap? Still, needing to remove the lens to charge the battery or remove the SD card is a big turn-off as I want to minimize opportunities for dust to get inside. (What were they thinking when they approved this design ??) +1 here hoping for an alternate product to emerge with a better design. The T still is a great camera that is enjoyable to use nonetheless. jonoslack Posted July 9, 2014 Share #18 Posted July 9, 2014 Hi There Somebody has managed to remove the snap case without taking the strap off - but they did say it required a scary amount of force. The good news is that the camera body seems to be incredibly resistant to scratches and scuffs - I've had 3 bodies, the current one since December, and the only mark on it is on the SD card door (just a tiny scuff) - nothing on the body at all. I had one black one and that seemed fine as well (that's what I've ordered). Sounds like the leather holster is quite good though (if a bit geeky). The wrist straps seem to be fine (I have an orange one, but given my time again I'd have black or yellow). Not so convinced by the adjustable strap - it looked to me like the metal adjusters would scratch the LCD if you weren't careful. I recommend naked use of the Leica T until someone comes up with a better case all the best
algrove Posted July 9, 2014 Share #19 Posted July 9, 2014 Jono How about the Leica leather half case?
vikasmg Posted July 9, 2014 Share #20 Posted July 9, 2014 Jono How about the Leica leather half case? The leather half-case is actually quite good. You need to remove it to extract the SD card, connect the USB cable and to remove the battery. You also need to remove the case to use the tripod. However removal is relatively easy and just needs a few twists do the flush fitting screw below with a coin. - Vikas
