Pobble Posted June 30, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have installed the new software and the HORIZON function does not do anything. Neither the camera-back LCD nor live view finder show any horizon line. And I did use the menu to set HORIZON on. All other functions are working except for Focus Peaking also is invisible. Has anyone else successfully installed the Horizon option or seen any focus-peaking lines using any oth te color choices?
Advertisement Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Hi Pobble, Take a look here Horizon line does not appear. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
digitalfx Posted June 30, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 30, 2014 The center info button toggles the display settings Regarding focus peaking make sure you have enabled and that you are in 5x mode
DMJ Posted June 30, 2014 Share #3 Posted June 30, 2014 Thanks digitalfx. Pobble beat me to this question. Had to be something stairing me in the face. Martin
Rick Posted June 30, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 30, 2014 Horizon works great. It is one of the somewhat unexpected feature updates. Leica listened to the forum requests. Like digitalfx has written; enable it in the Menu/Horizon/On. Then, press the center button (INFO) once or twice while in LV. It works great with the EVF as well. As digitalfx says, focus peaking works fine for me as well.
Pobble Posted June 30, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted June 30, 2014 Thanks for center toggle information. Horizon line now goes on. seems to be missing from "features" on software update. Focus peaking is still anemic compared to a Sony A7r on which it enables long focal length lenses to be rapidly focused manually, usually right on when checked using high-magnification. Does it read in two axes like the standalone feature previously available? Dante
ayewing Posted June 30, 2014 Share #7 Posted June 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes it shows both axes though they look different from the previous implementation.

Dante Dante - I've been shooting my WATE with the EVF for the first time in a long while and you are going to really like the Horizon with the EVF and wides! I haven't had a lock-up (none of us have) with the EVF yet (fingers crossed) and the Horizon feature works as it should in 3-D. This is one of my favorite "fixes." microview Posted June 30, 2014 Share #9 Posted June 30, 2014 Horizontal in live view? Fantastic! Will I never get converging verticals in hand-held architectural photography again?! :)
