The beach III

Hi Marc,

very interesting. I made nearly the same pictures to test my new D-Lux 3 at the Belgium coast some weeks ago. And I discovered the same pink sand-coloring. It`s no problem to remove it but it seems to be a typical effect of the D-Lux 3.

By this way I bought this small camera to take it with in any case. In the meantime I like it more and more because it is very handy (about 250 g compared with about 2,5 kg of my R9-DMR-Combo). I feel the technical quality of the RAW-pictures is very high.

Much fun and best regards, Hans

Thanks for your time and comments, Hans.

I'm just beginning to play with the Raw format, and it seems a good tool.

But really, I'm eager to receive the adapter wich allows use the R lenses.

Did you already try it?

Marc

Hi Marc,

is there an adaptor or do you expect it? I have a lot of very nice R-lenses.

But look at my R9-DMR-dng picture (Vario R 21-35 mm).

Regards Hans

Hello, Hans

The picture was done with the original lens, the 14-50 ASPH wich comes with the D3.

In this moment I'm expecting the adapter I bought the last week to a german eBay dealer.

I'm in the mood to try it with the R-lenses I got over the years.

Fine pict you sent, Hans. Any reason for using dng file?

cheers,

Marc

Yes Sir,

the best way to make more of your pictures. This picture was one of my first dng´s made with my new DMR in August 2005. In the meantime I have shot more than 10000, I think. Marc, if you have learned to work with RAW-datas you will never take others. Try it with Lightroom and you will see the results. Look at this (developed with CS2).

MfG Hans

Hi Hans,

A superb result, without any doubt.

Actually I import the files from D-Lux 3 with Photoshop Elements, and later I work with CS2.

D-Lux 3 only works with JPG and RAW files. Leica offers DNG format in the DMR settings only. As DNG were presented by Adobe in 2004, I think that Leica could have included it in D-Lux 3 settings. An omission?

Cheers,

Marc
