dkCambridgeshire Posted June 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Experiments using a 16mm Minolta Fish-Eye Rokkor-OK lens on a Leica MM. In 1973/74 the 16mm Rokkor was modified by Leitz to produce the 16mm Fisheye-Elmarit-R - at the time when Leitz and Minolta shared lens and camera technology to produce e.g. the R3, 24mm Elmarit-R and in 1978 the Vario Elmar 75-200mm. Nowadays it's possible to buy a Minolta 16mm fisheye lens relatively cheaply - in fact there is one currently listed in the UK for just £125 - a fraction of the cost of a s/h Fisheye=Elmarit-R. Minolta MC / MD lens to Leica M adaptors are readily available and the 16mm can be easily zone-focused to ensure sharp results. Welcome, dear visitor! This is the interior of the late Lady Docker's 1946 Daimler 5.4 litre Straight 8 'Green Goddess' which was also Daimler's exhibit at the 1948 New York Motor Show. Note the built-in cocktail cabinet - OK if you you want to get sloshed on a long journey. I wonder if the butler travelled with the Dockers? I guess that cocktail cabinets are still an option when ordering an English coachbuilt motor car … do we have any coachbuilders left?? This is another Daimler Limousine - a 1957 DK 400 which comfortably seats 7 adult passengers or 9 if the front bench seat is used. Triumph Roadster There were a few technical problems with the photos - caused by me not checking the separate handheld exposure meter battery (it was almost flat) - thus all exposure readings were 'under' and because of the almost impossible dynamic range (interior vs exterior) very few images are recoverable (I deliberately used JPEGS) But the fisheye lens is a viable and cost effective proposition with the MM when used carefully … or with any other M.
