mfphoto Posted April 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those of us that never have enough bags... I was at REI this weekend at came across this small bag: PacSafe Metro 200 Secure Shoulder Bag from REI.com I like it quite a bit and it is really works well when you want to travel light. Nicely fits the M8 and 1-2 lenses. I also have the Domke FX-B and I like this bag more. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a small bag. carstenw Posted May 1, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 1, 2007 I am fairly keen on finding an Artist&Artisan Oskar's Day Bag, but I have been unsuccessful so far. If someone has one for sale or knows where I might find one, please PM me. Thanks.

carstenw Posted May 1, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 1, 2007 Their website looks complete, but appears to be defunct. I have mailed them at the listed address and received no answer. Have you had successful communications with them?
nryn Posted May 2, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 2, 2007 I think PhotoVillage in NYC is an A&A dealer. I bought my A&A wrist strap from them.

jimowers Posted May 2, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I really cannot fault the Billingham bag for Leica M Series. It takes my three lenses and the M8 and when slung across to my left side makes lens changing so easy. I have never had a bag which works so well for me. The great thing about M8 is that the equipment is so light and can go anywhere and this bag certainly helps to make this happen.
Woody Campbell Posted May 2, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 2, 2007 According to Photo Village the A&A Oskar bag has been discontinued. Called them a week or so ago looking to purchase one... Too bad. It's a perfect bag for a Leica plus 2 lenses and the usual stuff people travel with. I guess it's become a collectable.
Morten Grathe Posted May 2, 2007 Share #9 Posted May 2, 2007 I second the Billingham Leica-bag. Well made and very neutral-looking.
rwfreund Posted May 2, 2007 Share #10 Posted May 2, 2007 I agree that the Lieca M Billingham bag is nice looking and well made, but I have not yet really got the hang of unfastening the leather straps from the studs to open it up. I also note that it is critical to be sure that the straps are fastened before setting the bag down. Should the shoulder strap sit under the case, the contents of the bag can easily go flying, at least for someone as clumsy as myself. The top of the bag has no handle, so the strap is the only convenient means of picking it up. -bob
jsjxyz Posted May 2, 2007 Share #11 Posted May 2, 2007 I am using M Classic Bag the old version (w/o small grab handler). M-Classics - mClassics - camera bag for Leica and rangefinder cameras JSJ
dfdann Posted May 2, 2007 Share #12 Posted May 2, 2007 I also use the M Classic old model and have been very pleased with it. It is great to take on an Airline as there is room for a lot of stuff in addition to a M8, M7, and three lenses, (two of them on the cameras.) jonoslack Posted May 2, 2007 Share #14 Posted May 2, 2007 Hi There I use two bags - both Billingham The small hadley is very simple, and has room for one body and a couple of lenses, or even two bodies with lenses on. it has two front pockets as well. For more 'serious' use I've recently got a Billingham 106 - it easily has room for two bodies and four lenses, with front pockets and their new 'presstop' which holds the bag open when it's over your shoulder, but it's still very small and unobrtusive - it's also waterproof, light and comfortable to carry for a long period. Here is the small hadley: http://www.billingham.co.uk/prodbuy.asp?id=83 and this is the 106 http://www.billingham.co.uk/prodbuy.asp?id=93 They're a great company - if you ring, you often speak with Martin himself, and they'll repair old (very old) bags enthusiastically and for a reasonable price. gilles_lorin Posted May 3, 2007 Share #15 Posted May 3, 2007 I have a Domke F-803 stachel. It can take one or two body and a couple of lenses, and has a couple of large pockets in the front for flash, etc... The bag is made of waterproof canvas, so it is very light to start with. gduveen Posted May 3, 2007 Share #16 Posted May 3, 2007 The M-Classics bag does look good, but it is not small compared to an Oskar's Day Bag. I am still looking... Carsten -M Classics are now also making a Compact bag which is about the same size as the Oskar, but otherwise much the same construction as the larger bag. I have both, and like being able to use different sizes for different occasions. Gerard

gduveen Posted May 3, 2007 Share #20 Posted May 3, 2007 Can you post a picture of the new compact M-Classic Bag? There is no mention of it on the web site. ThanksDan The Compact is smaller, with just two pockets in the front and no grab handle on the top, but with same materials and construction. You could email Seth Levine (pepe3@bellatlantic.net) for information about the bag. Gerard Welcome, dear visitor!
