fishdrummer Posted April 30, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have yet to purchase software to work with my M8's DNG files. At the moment I have about 800 DNG files in my macbook pro hard drive (bad idea i know). what is the easiest way to move it all to an exteranl hard drive? when I spotlight "DNG" and attempt to click and drag files over i get an error message saying one of the files is in use. is it that i am attempting to move too many at once? thanks
Advertisement Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hi fishdrummer, Take a look here Moving DNG from MAC to Ext Hard Drive. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Eoin Posted April 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2007 I suspect you have a DNG open somewhere. Shutdown the MBP and restart. Your using spotlight to find the files?. I'd just drag and drop the folders containing the DNGs to the new drive. Be prepared for a long wait, 8Gb of file transfer to an external USB or FW drive takes a little time. albertknappmd Posted April 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2007 and don't forget to back up the ENTIRE lot onto another EHD for security purposes... ;)
