sksaito Posted June 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I purchased a used black Leica M7. Great camera. It has the Leica logo on the top plate. I was told it was a U.S. M7 originally, not custom ordered. But I thought U.S. sold M7s didn't have any logo on the top plate. Japanese and custom ordered ones do. Am I mistaken? 620max Posted June 7, 2014 Share #2 Posted June 7, 2014 I think that is Japanese version, by the way, your M7 is black chrome or Black Paint?

AnakChan Posted June 16, 2014 Share #4 Posted June 16, 2014 Was it engraved? The original Leica M7 Japan had a print which can rub off. I'm not certain of latter ones were engraved by default or special custom order.

I'm not certain of latter ones were engraved by default or special custom order. The Leica script lettering is engraved. So probably special ordered?
