IkarusJohn Posted May 27, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 27, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the LFI app on my iPad - it takes too long for the magazine to reach me, and sometimes it goes astray altogether. So, I tend to read the digital version first. I bought the latest edition, 4/2014, using the in-App purchase. Unfortunately, I get a download error (Error 994). I contacted the App Store, and they refunded the price and told me to try downloading it again or to contact LFI directly. The edition is still listed in the LFI App (can't see how to delete it), so I can't purchase it again. I have contacted LFI, but had no response. Any one else had this problem? Any suggestions for a solution? Cheers John
farnz Posted May 31, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 31, 2014 Error 994? Ah, that sounds like the BitStuck bug. The fix is to rap your iPad smartly against the side of a 1 meter wooden table (must be wooden, preferably Kauri) three times (not four), which should jog the stuck bit(s) loose. Optionally, curses may be muttered through clenched teeth to assist the fix. (Children: do not try this at home.) My only other suggestion would be to delete the LFI App from your iPad and iTunes, re-synch, and re-download it to refresh the app. I have found that chanting incantations can be helpful during the process. Hope this helps. Pete.
IkarusJohn Posted May 31, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted May 31, 2014 Actually, I stuck my finger up my nose and walked three times backwards round the nearest cemetery reciting the Lord's Prayer in old English - worked a treat.
