pedaes Posted July 29, 2014 Share #21 Posted July 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I doubt that a camera designed for absolute discreetness would fare better in reflective silver. Thats correct - it reflects its surroundings and is invisible.
Advertisement Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Hi pedaes, Take a look here So, who's exchanging black MM for silver?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
semi-ambivalent Posted July 29, 2014 Share #22 Posted July 29, 2014 Thats correct - it reflects its surroundings and is invisible. My completely unscientific yet depressingly consistent observation is that Leicas are absolutely not, in and of themselves, discrete. I wish that nonsense was laid to rest. It is one's adeptness of technique that makes one's photographing discrete, and this works with almost any camera except perhaps some behemoth DSLR. thanks, s-a
Chuck Albertson Posted July 29, 2014 Share #23 Posted July 29, 2014 Why would I? The black MM disappears when it's hanging from my neck and I'm wearing a black t-shirt.

LeicaPassion Posted July 29, 2014 Share #26 Posted July 29, 2014 Black is the new Silver Absolutely. The less conspicuous the camera the better.

Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted July 30, 2014 Share #28 Posted July 30, 2014 So heres another QUESTION; if you were buying a new one having never owned one; what would you get Black or Sliver???
CaptZoom Posted July 30, 2014 Share #29 Posted July 30, 2014 So heres another QUESTION; if you were buying a new one having never owned one; what would you get Black or Sliver??? Without hesitation: silver. I'm partial to silver/grey and black Leicas/cameras, but for the MM the combination of silver and black (with white typeface below the buttons) is quite fitting for the nature of the camera which shoots images in black, white, and grey. Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted July 30, 2014 Share #30 Posted July 30, 2014 I wanted Black because my M240 is silver but I quite fancy the silver MM as it is a new color............but Black would be more practical as easy to see which one is which but there again my M has a REd 1/2 case so a tan 1/2 cas for the MM would work too
shootinglulu Posted July 30, 2014 Share #31 Posted July 30, 2014 I think Leica M's are less discreet than the ubiquitous DSLR in either colour. In a queue of DSLR toting Tourists in Bath I was asked ''So, taking photos today then?'' Does my M9 make me look like a pro?..A spy?
