miatadan Posted May 20, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 20, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is actual specs for Visoflex? Magnification , resolution etc. How big is the image compared to Fuji X-T1 EVF? Has anyone compared to to Olympus VF4? In comparison to looking at optical viewfinder in dslr's such as Nikon D610 and Canon 6D , is it bigger or smaller view? Dan
Advertisement Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Hi miatadan, Take a look here Visoflex specs. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
thighslapper Posted May 23, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2014 To be honest I didn't notice when I tried it out .... The view seemed fine and focussing was easy and accurate. The fact I just used it and it couldn't find anything to moan about tells you all you really need to know ..... but there again I don't tend to judge cameras based on the paper specifications ...... croc Posted May 23, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 23, 2014 Like Thighslapper said, I didn't have a positive or negtive impression of the Visoflex when I tried it for a short time several weeks back mounted to a T and using it to focus 40, 50, 90, and 135 M lenses. It was up to the task and okay to use without removing my glasses. During that same trip to the camera store, I was looking through the finders of the Oly OMD EM 1 and the Fuji X-T1. Both seemed to have a little more "spaciousness" compared with the Visoflex but I cannot say the difference was day and night. Hope this helps! vikasmg Posted May 23, 2014 Share #5 Posted May 23, 2014 I stopped by the Leica Store at lunch yesterday. My impression like another comment earlier, was also that it didn't feel as "spacious" as I has expected. However it's fine and it is certainly very sharp - sharper than the built-in EVF in my GX-7. On the whole I liked using it and I will buy it. Nothing as good as the M optical finder of course.
vikasmg Posted May 24, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 24, 2014 I stopped in again to put down a deposit for Monday. Another look at the Visoflex confirmed my remarks above. Very sharp but not a lot of free space around the image and data. I wear glasses and still had no trouble seeing everything, just that it didn't feel spacious around it. I found manual focus quite easy. As you focus a distance scale at the bottom shows the distance and what looks like the depth of field in focus on the scale. vikasmg Posted May 24, 2014 Share #7 Posted May 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I found the camera interface very easy. The two dials work very well and switching the second dial from ISO to exposure compensation was very easy to figure out. All the Summicrons in the Leica Store are already committed but I will get the zoom and an M adapter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
jonoslack Posted May 25, 2014 Share #8 Posted May 25, 2014 What I thought was Not as big as the Fuji X-T1 Much less contrasty than the Sony A7 (which is too contrasty) About the same as the Olympus E-M1 I think all of this use the same Epson panel, they're all slightly different and there are pros and cons. the Leica one is fine (nether the best or the worst). Oneshot Posted June 6, 2014 Share #9 Posted June 6, 2014 In the market of EVF, would you say that Visoflex is as the same level of the competition ? I had a look through several EVF (Olympus, Fuji, Sony,...) and my feel is we are still far away from OVF like a M which is so clear... but with a rangefinder you can't see exactly what you are shooting... Hard to choose ;-)
digitalfx Posted June 6, 2014 Share #10 Posted June 6, 2014 In the market of EVF, would you say that Visoflex is as the same level of the competition ? I had a look through several EVF (Olympus, Fuji, Sony,...) and my feel is we are still far away from OVF like a M which is so clear... but with a rangefinder you can't see exactly what you are shooting... Hard to choose ;-) It really doesn't matter...its the only EVF you can use, so you have no option. IMO its a required tool for the camera, relying on the LCD alone is not enough in many situations. That being said, I am personally disappointed in the EVF. Its physically large, yet when wearing glasses feels cramped. It could be so much better, but as I said its the only option available. mjh Posted June 6, 2014 Share #11 Posted June 6, 2014 In the market of EVF, would you say that Visoflex is as the same level of the competition ? As far as image quality in general and resolution in particular are concerned I would say it is. With regard to latency and frame rate Fuji and Olympus are still ahead. barjohn Posted June 7, 2014 Share #12 Posted June 7, 2014 A few notes on the Visoflex GPS. First, the GPS takes a long time to acquire a fix, much longer than an iPhone and unlike the iPhone it can't hold a fix indoors. Second, it shows an altitude of 59' when I am at sea level or at most 8-10 feet above sea level. This may be due to an error caused by not acquiring enough satellites. IkarusJohn Posted June 8, 2014 Share #13 Posted June 8, 2014 I have noticed that if you focus on a moving object (with the AF zoom attached) the EVF struggles to maintain the image. Fair to say the AF struggles with even slowly moving subjects.
