Hank Taylor Posted May 19, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) How do you like your sausages? I had the opportunity to stop by this open shop when in Hungary. Fantastic Hungarian sausages with PAPRIKA and the ALLSPICE a rich but delicate flavor. For those who love sausages the old Hungarian way here is a recipe my good friend's mother Mrs. Matuska used. 10 lbs. coarse ground pork butt or pork shoulder 1/3 cup imported mild Hungarian Paprika. (Do not substitute generic) 1/4 cup salt 2 heaping Tbls. ground Allspice 5 or 6 garlic cloves 2 cups water If you do not have a sausage stuffer you can still make this sausage by making patties and frying it in a pan. Pour water over the sausages so the links are in 1/2 inch of water. Cover.Start the water to a slow boil, turn down the heat and simmer the sausage in the water until the sausage starts to take on color Turn the sausage over and add a little more water to keep it from burning. Hank Taylor Posted May 19, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted May 19, 2014 Here another shot taken with more good tasting Hungarian cooking. It is interesting how they set up I think that are wooden burning stoves. Also would not be complete without a hot cup of coffee and a large pretzel Hank Welcome, dear visitor!
