The way I see it the performance of the current professional level m43 lens is so good I doubt Leica could bring anything better to the table. They could increase build quality, maybe do away with in body software correction, but that would probably not lead to better IQ overall. Leica should stick to primes really because they offer far more scope for traditional lens building and design. Right now m43 cameras are there to be the best bang for your buck cameras in terms of size and performance. If you make their lenses too expensive, too big or throw away things like OIS, power zooming and fly by wire autofocus just for a tiny increase in optical quality you risk destroying the whole purpose of the format. Image quality is always an interaction between lens and sensor and the best results come from the right balance.
