edvatza Posted May 10, 2014 Share #1 Posted May 10, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got my eye on CL. From what I've read, I think my contemporary lenses (28 Elmarit, 35 Summarit; 50 Summacron along with CV Noktons 35 1.2 and 50 1.5) will work with the CL but just want to make sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. Ed
Advertisement Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Hi edvatza, Take a look here Leica CL with Modern Lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted May 10, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 10, 2014 If the CL you'll find has its rangefinder in good shape, no reason for new lenses don't fit and focus correctly... of course, it must be kept in mind that CL has frames for 40 50 and 90 only... 28 can be a problem. tobey bilek Posted May 11, 2014 Share #3 Posted May 11, 2014 It is a short base rangefinder so it will be not sufficient for faster/longer lenses. Some lenses may protrude far enough to damage the metering arm.
Guest Posted May 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2014 (round 3:00) I have some prints showing HCB in Paris with a CL and a 50mm. Copies appear on ebay occasionally.
friedeye Posted May 15, 2014 Share #5 Posted May 15, 2014 The classic lens would be the Summicron 40 - about $500 on the bay. If you want a new lens, the Nokton 40 1.4 is terrific, and it's less than $500.
