I was looking at Arca Swiss mini L-Bracket but I don't think it fits Leica M with M Grip and I need MF grip because I use it for tethered studio shooting. algrove Posted May 3, 2014 Share #2 Posted May 3, 2014 I use the RRS L bracket # MC-L. If you do a search here, I have posted photos of it mounted and how I had it machined so that it did not require removal for SD card or battery changing.

Manolo Laguillo Posted May 11, 2014 Share #4 Posted May 11, 2014 bephoto, you are right, the Arca-Swiss L mini bracket doesn't fit with the MF grip. I have both parts, and could check it.
bephoto Posted May 11, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks Manolo, you think the normal Arca Bracket will work?
Manolo Laguillo Posted May 12, 2014 Share #6 Posted May 12, 2014 I don´t know if the normal Arca-Swiss L-Bracket would work, I don't own it. The problem with the L-Mini Bracket is the horizontal part of the bracket itself, the one which goes into the shoe that has to be attached to the camera's bottom plate. That horizontal part is way too short.

bephoto Posted May 29, 2014 Author Share #8 Posted May 29, 2014 Today I got my Arca mini L-Bracket and it works for what I need. It obviously won't have center when placed horizontally but neither any analogue M. without grip horizontal and vertical positions and centered. Welcome, dear visitor! 250swb Posted May 30, 2014 Share #9 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm curious. Why not put the camera on the head and then turn the ball head 90 degrees? Steve
Peter H Posted May 30, 2014 Share #10 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm curious. Why not put the camera on the head and then turn the ball head 90 degrees? Steve I find it very much easier to control the head movements when it's not in the 90 degree position. But mainly, if I want quick changes from landscape to portrait and back without altering anything else, using the bracket is by far the best way of doing it. And I'll point out that with the RRS L brackets, your aiming point doesn't change when swapping from horizontal to vertical. Their machining is very precise, unlike some other L brackets I've tried. Manolo Laguillo Posted May 30, 2014 Share #12 Posted May 30, 2014 ok, bephoto, I see what you did: not putting that extra plate the Arca-Swiss L bracket includes in order to avoid a rotational movement of the camera around the L bracket base. And you 'extracted' the chrome 'columns' nearly to the limit.

This is definitely a plus side if you place the point of interest in the centre of the frame in both horizontal and vertical pictures. Steve

Thanks everyone The regular Arca-Swiss L bracket is just fine and you can use it as a grip even with MF If fact I mount it with the vertical side on the side of the MF grip. Actually it works with the guide plate (the extra one) perfectly I just forgot to put it for that shot This is how much the tubes are going in and its more than enough Welcome, dear visitor!
