M7 + AGFA SCALA tips please?

back to shoot some film again but now that I'm not using M7 commercially I thought instead of shoving ektachromes in it go BW received a batch of Scala from fotoimpex. any tips from Scala hardcore users are welcome and useful :D thanx

Well, Arka Photo in Paris developed the Scala for a very long time — they recommended ISO 400 and it worked well for me. As for all slides, watch the highlights...:rolleyes:

Actually, an older, lower contrast lens worked well with the Scala (in my case the Xenar of the Rolleicord Va).

And if you could get some Scala slides printed on Ilford direct positive paper, please share the experience!

The yellow filter (and other filters) are of course good for any B/W photography, but I have shot Scala for years with and without filters, and it is an amazingly forgiving film, also without any filter added.

 

It depends on the effects (or not) that one wants to achieve of course.

 

Perhaps an even bigger influence is the firm you send it to for development, as it can have a massive effect on the results?

 

My all time favourite film. Great to see others using it too ;-0) and you should do very well together with that beautiful M7!
