lyleg Posted April 18, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted April 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Â I bought a used x2 a while back and it has a fair bit of sensor dust, 2 spots that are very obvious even at f2.8 with a clear sky shot. Any idea what it will cost to get this cleaned and where I can get this work done? Â I am in Canada fwiw. Â Lyle

jaapv Posted April 18, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted April 18, 2014 How old is the camera? Leica Wetzlar might well do this under guaranty (enquire) but as you are the second owner, Leica in your part of the world may charge you.

jaapv Posted April 19, 2014 Share #4  Posted April 19, 2014 I wouldn’t. But the final word is with Leica.
firoze Posted April 19, 2014 Share #5 Â Posted April 19, 2014 If you can ask the original owner to delete the camera from from his user account at the Leica website, then you can register it in your name via the website. If there is any balance period of the warranty, Leica would probably honour it. I did this myself a few weeks ago, though I have not needed to do any repairs - I just registered it. By the way, this process was suggested to me by Leica themselves. Â Best, and easiest, is to send an email to Leica for clarifications. They do reply promptly. Good luck! jaapv Posted April 19, 2014 Share #6  Posted April 19, 2014 That would be Leica Wetzlar, I suppose. Proof of original purchase would work as well. However, as the camera was introduced in May 2012, it must still be in guaranty and if you are quick Leica will probably not even require all these actions. Just send it to Wetzlar now with an explanatory note ( Don’t forget the Customs paperwork).
Johanb Posted April 19, 2014 Share #7 Â Posted April 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had my X2 cleaned last winter in Solms under warranty. Free of charge of course but i think the receipt said 300-400 euro.
