chris_tribble Posted April 18, 2014 Share #41 Posted April 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hmm - I've been using the M-240 for over a year and had perhaps two lockups - but no memory of having these with the latest firmware. I covered a joint 80th birthday party (also a once in a lifetime event ) last week and had no problems with high ISO or the EVF (used with the 90 Apo). Need a backup and have the funds? Get an M-240. SO nice shooting with matched bodies. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! chris_tribble Posted April 18, 2014 Share #42 Posted April 18, 2014 I have attached a couple of wedding examples using M9 with 50 Lux in v dark conditions - ISO 1000 f/3.4 (should have been 1.4) but gives a good sense of movement. The church shot is ISO 800 @ f/1.4. The client loved these and appreciated the 'alternative and original' look. There was a second / back-up photographer employed who used Canon and flash.... I'll keep it at that. It's a lovely shot, but you could have done even better with the M-240 at 2500 or 3200 IMHO...
FlashGordonPhotography Posted April 18, 2014 Share #43 Posted April 18, 2014 I've shot my last two weddings on the 240 with a M9 as a backup. Before that I've shot maybe75 weddings with the M9. With about 3K shots now (incl. personal and testing), I have yet to have a lockup with my new 240. I use Lexar 16gb cards an only occasionally use the EVF. I'd try a few different cards and see what happens, personally. I only ever format my cards in camera. *For me* the 240 is the ideal wedding camera. I also have a Sony A7 an A7r with the FE lenses and a full m43 kit. Before my M9s I shot Canon for 20 years. The changes from the M9 are tailor made for the wedding photographer.
