mjr Posted April 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello! I have recently purchased an MP and am still trying to come up with a reasonable way to carry it about without i)getting the base plate and body scratched up whenever I put it down and ii) without attracting attention in places like the subway. I have tried putting it in a small padded case that I throw into a backpack, but by the time I get it out, the picture opportunity is usually gone. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the neoprene case? Is it protective and does it become unobtrusive when it is "open"?

Leica Ever ready Case is a choice, or try leicatime case which has better quality.
earleygallery Posted April 25, 2007 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2007 Why not get a battered old Leica ERC off e bay. No one will think the camera is worth anything.
PHOTOEIL Posted April 25, 2007 Share #4 Posted April 25, 2007 Just put some tape on the 'sensitive' places and over the brand-mark and type number. Do it a little clumsy and hang it on jour neck under your (batterd) coat but do not attempt to 'hide' the camera. Stop shaving for a day ore two, and do not look like a victim. The last is the difficult one, I know. Good luck, Philippe
bobtodrick Posted April 25, 2007 Share #5 Posted April 25, 2007 I'm surprised that no one has come out with the neoprene 'skins' that are so popular with the point and shoots. They protect the camera without adding (virtually) any weight plus give a very grippable surface. mjr Posted April 25, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted April 25, 2007 Thanks to all for your suggestions. Regarding the neoprene skin that was mentioned, I believe Leica now makes one. It is available through B and H in NY for about $50 but I have not seen it. It is apparently designed to hang from the strap when not in use. Has anybody seen or used one of these, and do you think it is a good idea?
