edwardkaraa Posted March 24, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Only one month of light use and the locking ring of the baseplate is starting to dangle slightly. Is there a way to tighten it by myself without sending it to Leica?

Jeff S Posted March 24, 2014 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2014 The search box works wonders, even for this issue. Jeff

edwardkaraa Posted March 25, 2014 Author Share #5 Posted March 25, 2014 OMG, Jeff, you really made a huge a discovery there. If your English reading skills were not blinded by your desire to make fun of other people, you would have realized I was the op of that thread and it was about the M9. Now this thread is about the M 240 and the mechanism seems to be simpler, so I was hoping someone more helpful would chime in. Maybe it's my bad luck that I keep on getting faulty baseplates, or idiots such as yourself and that French canadian who liked your funny posts. Btw, idiot is not an insult, though perhaps French Canadian might be.
swamiji Posted March 25, 2014 Share #6 Posted March 25, 2014 If this is about the M9, then why is it in the M240 forum? I noticed in the OP, the absence of the model in question. So who's to know?
Marac Posted March 25, 2014 Share #7 Posted March 25, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Edward - Thats the way things roll around here you have to carefully sift through the insults until you find the useful posts. Took me a while but I have it sorted now.
wlaidlaw Posted March 25, 2014 Share #8 Posted March 25, 2014 I have seen the fix involving bending the pin but could the actual cause be that the disc spring “Belleville” washer has flattened. Usually this is due to imperfect hardening or overly soft steel of the washers. Chinese made Belleville washers, which are much cheaper, are notorious for flattening. Jeff S Posted March 25, 2014 Share #9 Posted March 25, 2014 Maybe it's my bad luck that I keep on getting faulty baseplates, or idiots such as yourself and that French canadian who liked your funny posts. Probably just karma, karaa. Jeff
