BenMathes Posted March 20, 2014 Author Share #21 Posted March 20, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pico, I did use the Maxspedition version of that bag to carry my gear both times to Iraq, and 6 times into the war in Congo! Admittedly harder to get to stuff, but could carry more stuff, including my camelback when it wasn't in my vest. Do me a favor, explain all that to the fashionista- I doubt he has any experience with ianywhere more difficult than shopping mall. I used my a billingham with Hezbollah in Paraguay one of three times in, it was the subject of a video in which I buried some technology to virally share messages into their cell phones. They are hard to beat. Will probably carry the billingham to the Orosa river in Peru, and back to Thailand later this summer , with a Leica/Fuji mix in it. pico Posted March 20, 2014 Share #22 Posted March 20, 2014 Pico, I did use the Maxspedition version of that bag to carry my gear both times to Iraq, and 6 times into the war in Congo! I have a sling version in brown that works very well. Another very good find was a heavy duty ballistic nylon copy of the Vietnam medic's Alpha pack. Do me a favor, explain all that to the fashionista- I doubt he has any experience with ianywhere more difficult than shopping mall. I cannot. Sometimes I get grief for using such military gear. I'm too old to care. My link is simple Rivers Of The World (ROW) | International Exploration & Development ROW! Very cool!

So matching up the colour with the camera is really a non-issue. For me, what matters in a hot country is that the colour does not heat up and cook the contents in direct sunlight, e.g., like a black or dark coloured bag does here in Greece. That's a very interesting project, by the way. Nick

BenMathes Posted March 21, 2014 Author Share #25 Posted March 21, 2014 A lot of the time, I fall back on a green original size Domke bag Hard to beat! Thanks for the kind words- the downside of the Leica forum is the petty attitudes of some folks- I had really hoped it would be a place where encouraging insights and mutual support for wonderful Leica products could be found. The Scoops Fuji site is very helpful that way.
adespen Posted March 21, 2014 Share #26 Posted March 21, 2014 I actually like the black grip as it matches the lens and soft button. And the green almost matches my M-E in colour...
LeicaMSeattle Posted March 21, 2014 Share #27 Posted March 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's always nice to set yourself apart from others with our equipment. My M9-P's paint is wearing thin around the edges developing a patina that I've learned to embrace as it is along with me for the journey of capturing moments in my life.
