tundraline Posted March 16, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted March 16, 2014 Here's a better version (I think) of the same photo, with more cropping. What do you think? Welcome, dear visitor! John Z. Goriup Posted March 16, 2014 Share #5 Posted March 16, 2014 I like the cropped version better since it places the kingfisher nearer to one of the intersect points of the 'rule of thirds', making for a 'smoother', composition. Having addressed the cropping, I believe the image would benefit from some tweaking of what to my eyes is over-saturation of the colors. Respectfully, JZG
tundraline Posted March 16, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted March 16, 2014 I like the cropped version better since it places the kingfisher nearer to one of the intersect points of the 'rule of thirds', making for a 'smoother', composition. Having addressed the cropping, I believe the image would benefit from some tweaking of what to my eyes is over-saturation of the colors. Respectfully, JZG Thanks for the feedback, John. This photo was taken right at sunset, and that caused the colors on the rock to pop. Interestingly enough, little was done to the photo to emphasize color or saturation. Iduna Posted March 16, 2014 Share #7 Posted March 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think the second verion is also good under the aspect of emphasizing the "King's" position on its throne.
