90mm or adaptor for Canon lens?

Hi

I have an M240 with 50mm and 28mm lens. I'm considering adding something longer, though I expect I won't be giving it very much use comparatively. I have Canon 60D with a 70-200mm, which I rarely use, but when I do, I love using the longer focal length for certain applications. However, the 60D IQ rarely impresses me anymore (ugly noise, even at the lower ISO ranges).

I'm dabbling a bit between a few options:

1) Getting an adapter to mount the 70-200 on the M240.

2) Getting a used 90mm Elmarit-M

3) Getting a tele zoom for my Fuji X-E1...

Does anyone have some good experiences with mounting a 70-200 on a Leica M? I haven't found a lot of good high-res images to look at...

AF isn't very important as I don't shoot anything fast moving. IQ is more important.

Thanks!

Elmarit M is a delightful lens, both in terms of the beautiful quality it is capable of, and its diminutive size for a 2.8 90mm lens.

I don't know the Canon lens you have, but I'd be very surprised if you weren't bowled over by the Elmarit M in comparison.

I recently opted for a used 90 Elmarit M (for M240), which I sent to DAG for quick inspection and grease replacement. Looks and feels new, for much less than half the price of a new 90, which seems about right given that it will see limited use compared to my other lenses.

Even if I had a Canon zoom, I'd never just take it along on a whim, and that would defeat one of the great benefits of the M system for me.

I happen to have the same three lenses, a 28mm & 50mm from Leica, and that 70-200 f/2.8 from Canon. The only issue with the Canon is not its image quality, which is excellent, but its size & weight. It's about 8 inches long (without the hood), and weighs almost 3 lbs. A load, not a whim carry. If you're going to use the 'long' lens for landscape/city/portrait photography I'd go for the Elmarit M. If wildlife//sports is your game, then the Canon.

I'd be very interested to see a comparison shot at a low ISO with your M and 60D to see this ugly noise you mention.....
